Paris, 16 June 2016 – CDC Arkhinéo, a subsidiary of Caisse des Dépôts and a pioneer in the electronic archiving of documents with probative value, has announced topping the one billion mark for digital archives, thus consolidating its leading position.
Since its creation in 2001, CDC Arkhinéo has been a critical player in the “All Digital” transition. The company, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, has archived over one billion electronic documents, eliminating 10,000 metric tons of paper waste.

In the 15 years since it opened for business, CDC Arkhinéo has achieved:
- 24% growth in revenues in 2015
- 1 billion electronic documents archived (never having used hard copies)
- 19 million new archives per month in 2015, up 36.4% compared to 2014
- 7.3 archives processed each second in 2015, i.e. an average of more than 620,000 new archives per day
- 1.7 million sheets of A4 paper saved (i.e. 280 million litres of water saved and 190,000 trees spared)
2020 targets: Europe and 5 billion archives
CDC Arkhinéo, which already provides its services to clients in the financial and IT sector in countries across the European Union (Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and the UK), plans to continue expanding around the world through its network of partners based in 23 different countries. The company aims to become a European leader in electronic archiving of documents with probativevalue and Digital Transaction Management (DTM), with a goal of 5 billion archives by 2020.
